This will be Todd’s first season working as an avalanche specialist with the Flathead Avalanche Center. His avalanche career began working as a professional ski patroller at several ski areas, from Mt. Hood, OR and Crystal Mountain, WA to Winter Park, CO and Moonlight Basin, MT. Wanting to experience the highway side of avalanche work, Todd worked for the Idaho Transportation Department avalanche program and, most recently, for the Washington State DOT on Snoqualmie Pass. His avalanche training includes National Avalanche School, Level III Avalanche, CAA Level I, Avalanche Search and Rescue and AAUNAC training. During the summer, Todd works as an assistant module leader for the Swan Lake Ranger District fire crew. Todd enjoys spending time in the mountains, on the rivers, and in the garden with his wife and three daughters.
